Our day trip to Essaouira starts around 8:00 am from your accommodation in Marrakech, and we will drive to the coast along the picturesque road. On the way we will stop to see the argan trees, where small goats climb the low branches to feed. We will also stop at a women's cooperative that produces argan oil along the way. The kernels of the tree are used to extract the oil, which tastes great when drizzled on bread or as a complement to Moroccan meals. In addition, the oil is used as a cosmetic to treat hair and skin. Sometimes there can be up to twenty goats sitting upright in a single tree. To get a good photo, you should see this amazing sight.
Upon arrival at the Moroccan beach town of Essaouira at midday, we see the vast expanse of the North Atlantic Ocean. It doesn't take long to realize why the bustling old city is a World Heritage Site. The waterfront is protected from past attacks by ramparts and ancient copper cannons lining the walls. The coastal city is home to several contemporary restaurants, and the city's modern culture blends beautifully with its rich history. It feels like you're traveling through time as you move from a contemporary café to an old house in just a few meters. On the seafront, there is a long promenade where swimmers and sun lovers can enjoy the sandy beach and golden sands of this small town. For this reason, when you go to the beach, remember to pack a towel, swimsuit and sunscreen.
Around 5:00 pm on the afternoon we will leave for Marrakech on the way back. As the sun begins to set in the late afternoon, you will be able to enjoy the surrounding scenery once again. You will understand why Essaouira is a favorite destination for most travelers to Morocco when you take this exciting day trip to Essaouira.
